TunisiaYoung Mediterranean Voices bring Mediterranean initiatives to the European Parliament during the Youth Week
Young Mediterranean voices (YMV) from Libya and Malta showcased methodologies for dialogue and cultural intelligence at the Brussels-based European Youth Week. During the session that took place on 29 April at the European Parliament, the two delegates highlighted the importance of youth involvement and innovative action to strengthen and create a more inclusive and sustainable future for everyone.
The European Youth Week brought together young people from Africa, the Middle East and the European Union, involved in Africa-EU partnerships and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. Panelists discussed and shared experiences about different ways that young people can become more democratically savvy and influential, not just as voters and citizens, but also as political candidates, decision makers and agenda setters.
Young Mediterranean voices is the flagship debate and Dialogue programme connecting civil society, education and policy-makers across the southern Mediterranean and Europe. The programme provides a pioneering platform to open doors for young influencers to shape policy and media narratives. It is grounded on the positive experience of Young Arab Voices launched in 2011 by the Anna Lindh Foundation and British Council and it benefits from the support of the European Union.
