The EU High Representative Federica Mogherini received on 30 November  a “Youth Agenda” for the future of relations between Europe and Africa. The agenda is a set of policy recommendations on the key concerns of young people in Africa and Europe, which will be endorsed by the European and African Heads of State at the 5th AU-EU Summit currently underway in Abidjan.

This “Youth Agenda” was drafted by the 36 young fellows of the Youth-Plug-In Initiative who were chosen as ambassadors of the African and European youth to draft this roadmap as epitome of a strengthened inclusion of youth in the Africa-EU partnership.

The Youth Agenda contains concrete proposals and innovative solutions on key topics impacting youth on both continents. As this year’s has the overarching theme “Investing in Youth for a Sustainable Future”, the European Union and the African Union have made ensuring a meaningful participation of young people in the run-up to and at the Summit a priority.
