EU Jeel Connectors in Algeria continue to drive impactful initiatives that bring young people closer to their communities and futures.
On World Heritage Day, Abdelmoumen Benamara and Yacine Sadou, EU Jeel Connectors from Algeria, organised Casbah Talk – Activate the Role of Youth on Heritage Preservation. The event took place in the heart of Algiers with a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Casbah, followed by interactive discussions. Participants explored how young people can engage in preserving Algeria’s cultural heritage and learned more about the EU’s support for safeguarding heritage across the region.
Meanwhile, Ayoub Kouane, also an EU Jeel Connector from Algeria, hosted EduTalks: Rethinking Education in Algeria at the Instituto Cervantes in Algiers. The event brought together 35 participants and featured young experts addressing pressing questions around innovation, EdTech, and education reform. It also highlighted the EU-funded programme for quality, future-oriented education, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and ensuring that young people are equipped for the challenges of tomorrow.
These initiatives show how Algerian youth are shaping conversations on culture and education, strengthening their role as active contributors to the Euro-Mediterranean future.
