This 10th edition of the “International Photography Encounters of Ghar El Melh” is organising an exhibition as part of the “Sawer Bel Akhdhar” campaign by the Delegation of the European Union to Tunisia, blending sustainability and creativity. The exhibition will bring together photographic series illustrating the following themes:
Observation of the effects of climate change on natural ecosystems, wildlife, flora, and communities around the world—and specifically in Tunisia. This may include rising sea levels and desertification, species extinction, or natural disasters linked to global warming (wildfires, floods, etc.). This theme encourages awareness of the climate emergency.
Exploration of the indirect effects of climate change that have clear social and economic impacts. From the abandonment of agriculture to inequalities during heatwaves, climate change affects the daily lives of millions of people.
Documentation of actions taken to combat climate change, as well as civic or associative activism aimed at slowing it down and mitigating its effects.
Landscape or wildlife photography that reflects on ecological issues.
More personal approaches, through staged photography or representations of psychological impacts—while not the main focus—are also accepted.
