Successful collaboration for women and girls around the world is a hallmark of the partnership between the European Union and UN Women. Since UN Women’s establishment in 2010, both parties have developed a close partnership, signalled by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in April 2012. In June 2016, the EU and UN Women reaffirmed their commitment to working in concert in order to continue to promote gender equality across the globe through shared policy dialogue, advocacy, and programming on the ground. Today and more than ever, cooperation is essential if we are to make a difference in the lives of women and girls.
