Since 2013, the European Union has, over the SwitchMed programme, demonstrated the strengths and opportunities for building greener and more dynamic business models in the southern Mediterranean region that can address some of the region’s pressing environmental, social and economic issues.
SwitchMed was launched to support and connect stakeholders to scale-up SCP in eight countries of the southern Mediterranean region through eco and social innovations. Through its four components – Industry, Green Entrepreneurship, Policy and Networking Facility – it supports industry, emerging green entrepreneurs, civil society and decisionmakers with policy development, demonstration activities and knowledge transfer
