As part of the EU funded SwitchMed programme, UNIDO supports industries in Egypt through the MED TEST II project to produce resource efficient, competitive and with a better environmental performance.
On the 26th June, 28 Egyptian companies from the food, chemical and textile sectors will present their savings on a final event in Cairo showing the potential of resource efficiency for the Egyptian economy.
The MED TEST II project has once again revealed that resource efficiency is an efficient tool for the economy to help companies lower their production costs and save valuable resources to other parts of the society.
The SwitchMed sustainable consumption and production programme aims to promote a switch by the Mediterranean economies towards sustainable consumption and production patterns and green economy, including low-emission development, through demonstration and dissemination of methods that improve resource and energy efficiency.
