SEACAP 4 SDG presents the Municipalities to update their energy efficiency plan

On 29th November 2022, the Lebanese partner of SEACAP 4 SDG project (LCEC) organised a mid-term event, hosted within the Beirut Energy Week 2022 – The Rebirth, for officially announcing the first Municipalities and Local Authorities selected for receiving, thanks to EU funded project SEACAP 4 SDG, technical support by an external entity for obtaining an updated Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plan (SEACAP), or an equivalent energy-mix efficiency plan.

The event, after the interventions of representatives from EU delegation in Lebanon and from ENI CBC MED Program, represented the opportunity for officially announce and present the list of Municipalities/Local Authorities selected: Municipality of Lloret de Mar (Spain), Municipality of Aigialeia (Greece), Municipality of Naples (Italy), Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (Jordan), Municipality of Jdeideh El Chouf (Lebanon), Municipality of Sax (Spain), Municipality of Bizerte (Tunisie), Alexandria Water Company (Egypt).

All the selected Municipalities/Local Authorities gave their feedback about the current state-of-the-art, their expectations and objectives about the implementation of the proposed support mechanism in country partners, as well as the main tools identified for the update of the energy plan, after the first phase of training carried out between October and November 2022, in the framework of SEACAP 4 SDG project.
