EU High Representative Federica Mogherini explained in an answer to a parliamentary question in the European Parliament – put online on 31 March 2016 – that the EU and Algeria would work out together the details of a joint evaluation of their Association Agreement.
She added: “previous studies about the Association Agreement and its impact may be relevant for the purpose of this evaluation. Additional technical studies may be conducted in accordance to the terms of reference agreed upon by the two parties in the context of this exercise. The Algerian request aims at conducting a joint evaluation of the Agreement 10 years after its entry into force. The objectives of the evaluation are yet to be defined by both parties but the intention is to assess the impact of the Agreement on both the EU and Algeria including the economic and commercial dimensions”.
