On 25 November, the European Union and the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF) marked the successful completion of the Jerusalem Green Energy & Sustainability Program, an initiative designed to promote clean energy and sustainable practices among businesses in East Jerusalem.
The programme supported more than 35 East Jerusalem-based enterprises to adopt greener and more efficient solutions. Through a combination of grants and green financing, beneficiary businesses were able to install solar energy systems, acquire environmentally friendly equipment and reduce their electricity costs.
By lowering operational expenses and encouraging sustainable investments, the Jerusalem Green Program has contributed to strengthening the economic resilience of East Jerusalem, while supporting the wider transition towards cleaner energy and more sustainable local development.
