Ahead of the European Union-Tunisia Association council due to take place on 17 May, the EU published today the new report on the developments of the relations with Tunisia. The report details the main aspects of the cooperation from early 2018 to march 2019.

The report is structured in line with the Tunisia-EU strategic priorities by the end of 2020, with the aim of describing as concretely as possible the progress in the priority fields of the partnership. These priorities target the inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development; youth, democracy, good governance and human rights; bringing people together, mobility and migration; security and fight against terrorism.

The EU remains the first commercial partner of Tunisia, the destination of about three-quarters of its exports and source of more than half of its imports in 2018. The EU is the first foreign investor in Tunisia, representing more than 85% of the foreign direct investment in the country, and with more than 3,000 European companies employing more than 300,000 people.
