EU in Egypt visited three bakeries in Fayoum that had received EU funding to increase their resource and energy efficiency as part of the ER2FOOD initiative.
The ER2FOOD-supported investments have shown to be very successful in terms of reducing gas, electricity, and raw material use, and they are setting examples of activities that may make a difference for the environment.
ER2FOOD aims to increase awareness about energy and Resource efficiency solutions across the Egyptian food industries and relevant stakeholders through dedicated events, training groups and workshops in Cairo, Delta and Upper Egypt. Selected MSMEs and startups will receive technical, business and financial support to accompany their transitions to a more sustainable model.
