On 8 November, the European Union in Jordan celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of young Jordanians from the Jordan School of Politics (JSoP), an EU-funded initiative implemented by the Independent Election Commission in cooperation with Jordanian political parties. The programme aims to strengthen youth participation in democratic life and foster dialogue across the political spectrum. The Jordan School of Politics provides young men and women from diverse political backgrounds with the knowledge and practical skills needed to enhance their engagement in public life. Through workshops and discussions, participants learned how to overcome differences, build consensus, and communicate ideas that can inspire meaningful change.
As part of their training, participants developed a series of policy papers, demonstrating the advocacy and leadership skills they have gained throughout the programme. These outputs reflect their commitment to advancing youth participation, promoting constructive dialogue, and contributing to Jordan’s democratic development. The European Union reaffirmed its support for initiatives that empower young Jordanians to take an active role in shaping their country’s future, underlining that the strength of democracy lies in inclusion, cooperation, and the free exchange of ideas.
