In a groundbreaking initiative, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), in collaboration with the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA) and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, announced the launch of the TECHLOG Project‘s Egyptian pilot actions – a training program focused on improving safety standards in the logistics industry. These actions are set to revolutionize the training of truck and reach stacker/forklift operators, as well as port cargo handling (gantry crane) operators in Egypt.

The TECHLOG Project, renowned for its commitment to innovation and technology, is spearheading this initiative to address the pressing need for enhanced safety in the logistics sector. The project’s Eastern Living Lab, situated at the AASTMT premises in Alexandria, will serve as the training hub for this transformative endeavor.

The first pilot action training program focuses on road safety awareness and best practices for truck drivers. With an emphasis on practical training, participants will utilize state-of-the-art simulators to hone their driving skills. The primary objectives of this program are to increase drivers’ sensitivity to road safety issues, improve their environmental consciousness, and ensure compliance with safety standards and requirements.

Through immersive training sessions and realistic simulations, truck drivers will learn to navigate various scenarios, including adverse weather conditions, heavy traffic, and emergency situations. The training aims to instill a culture of safety consciousness within companies’ fleets, ultimately reducing accidents and improving overall road safety. The 2nd pilot action shifts its focus to the safe and efficient operation of port gantry cranes, with a strong emphasis on eco-friendliness.
