The Twinning project between the EU and Tunisia for the Consolidation of the new medico-economic information device and its generalisation to all the public hospitals held its closing seminar last week in Tunis.

During this event, the beneficiaries and the partners of the Twinning presented the medico-economic aspect of the results achieved for six pilot sites. They also evoked the actions that will be undertaken in the medium and long term by the Health ministry according to the priorities.

This project, which took place between September 2015 and September 2017, benefited from an EU funding of €1 million. It was implemented in the framework of the Support Programme to Services Competitiveness (PACS) by two institutional partners, SESCAM (Public Health Service of the Autonomous Community Castilla-La Mancha) and FIAPP (International and Latin American Foundation of Administration and Policies).

The Twinning has two objectives:

  • Improve the quality of the services provided by healthcare institutions and contribute to achieving the national objectives in terms of health;
  • Reinforce the governance capacities of public health (resource allocation and performance assessment).
