EUBAM Libya and Libyan Ministry of Interior Discuss Enhanced Cooperation

Tripoli, Libya – 8 January – The Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM Libya) Jan Vyčítal, met with key figures from the Libyan Ministry of Interior (MoI) to discuss strengthening joint cooperation programs. The meeting focused primarily on training and performance development initiatives. The meeting saw the participation of Major General Noureddine Abu Jarida, Director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, and Brigadier Ali Al-Sayed, Director of the Department of Security Planning. Major General Abu Jarida opened the meeting, providing an overview of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.

 

Mr. Vyčítal stated that EUBAM Libya stands ready to support with its available advisory resources. Discussions focused on leveraging EUBAM’s expertise to enhance the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) capabilities through targeted training programs and performance development strategies. Mr. Vyčítal emphasized the vital partnership with the Libyan Ministry of Interior, stating that cooperation between the two is essential for both the European Union and Libya

 

This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of both EUBAM Libya and the Libyan Ministry of Interior to collaborate on improving security sector governance and fostering professional development within the Libyan border management.
