The EU-funded EUROMED Invest project held the first edition of the Euro-Mediterranean business meetings “#OPENMYMED” for the textile/fashion sector. The event saw the participation of 58 French companies, 7 Italian, 5 Lebanese, 5 Moroccan, 7 Tunisian, and 1 Portuguese.

Businesses and designers participated in a workshop focusing on designer/industrial partnerships between the north and south shores of the Mediterranean, during which professionals were able to present themselves, highlight the textile sector in their particular country, present the main advantages of working together, the main obstacles, and discuss the challenges facing Mediterranean SMEs.

In the afternoon, with the goal of creating new business partnerships, over 180 B2B meetings were held between raw material suppliers of fabric, silk, leather, and metal accessories…, mainly from Italy, Morocco and Tunisia, crafters mainly Tunisians, designers, and distributors.

The aim of the EUROMED Invest project is to boost private business and investment within the Euro-Mediterranean region to contribute to an inclusive economic development. The project activities aim to empower Euro-Med business and investment networks to implement targeted strategies in support of SME development in specific sectors: agri-food, water and alternative energies, tourism, transport and logistics, cultural and creative industries.
