EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, will travel to Algeria for an official visit on 12 and 13 March.
The High Representative will meet Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane and Minister for Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra.
This visit will be an opportunity for in-depth discussions to consolidate and extend the partnership between the European Union and Algeria. The High Representative will explore areas of shared interest covered by the EU-Algeria Association Agreement, with the aim of stimulating or strengthening dialogue and cooperation. The meetings will also present a chance to discuss regional and international issues, notably the situation in the Sahel region and shared challenges in the current global context in light of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
