Within the framework of the EU and Swiss Confederation co-funded LIBMITAF project, ICMPD organised a preparatory session and accompanied the Libyan Delegation to the Khartoum Process Senior Officials’ Meeting in Kampala, Uganda.

In preparation for the meeting, ICMPD organised a preparatory session for the Libyan Delegation to brief them on the agenda, the main points of discussion and procedural matters of the dialogue and the meeting. During the Senior Officials’ Meeting, the Libyan Delegation also had the opportunity to bilaterally meet with several other delegations.

Libya is a member of the Khartoum Process, also known as the EU – Horn of Africa Migration Route Initiative, which is a platform for political cooperation between the countries along the migration route between the Horn of Africa and Europe.

The ICMPD-implemented LIBMITAF project supports, among other, the participation of Libyan delegation in international and regional migration dialogues, including the Khartoum Process, which contributes to enhanced cooperation and collaboration between countries of origin, transit, and destination.
