The first hub of the ADAPT programme was officially launched today in Nabeul.

This hub brings together financial institutions and research departments/advisers in support of potential investors and to promote the ADAPT Invest support fund. This is a pilot experiment aimed at encouraging sustainable investments in the agriculture, aquaculture and fisheries sectors in Tunisia, which could possibly be replicated in other regions of the country.

Objectives of the hub:

  • To create a support network for project sponsors
  • To facilitate access to financing and support services
  • To promote the ecological transition and sustainable practices

During this event, participants signed a charter of accession and explored the first key actions to be undertaken in order to attain these objectives.

The ADAPT programme (the name is an acronym of the French for ‘Support for Sustainable Development in the Agriculture and Artisanal Fisheries Sector in Tunisia’), is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). It contributes to the development of Tunisia with an innovative, equitable and environmentally friendly approach combining security, food self-sufficiency and management of natural resources.
