On October 1, 2024, awareness activities at the school level were launched at the Islamic Rufida Governmental School as part of the Neighbourhood Environmental Campaign titled “Yalla Nfariz,” in collaboration with the Education Department of Irbid.
These awareness activities at schools mark the second phase of the “Yalla Nfariz” campaign, which was initiated on July 24, 2024, by His Excellency Dr. Nabeel Al-Kofahi, the Mayor of Greater Irbid Municipality, and launched in the Al-Rabieh neighbourhood of Irbid.
The “Yalla Nfariz” campaign is an essential component of the “Cleaner Energy Saving Multi-Use Public Building” project, which is part of the broader “Climate for Cities (C4C)” program. The European Union and the Irbid Municipality jointly fund this project. The Greater Irbid Municipality, Yarmouk University, and the Future Pioneers Company are collaboratively driving the implementation of this vital initiative.
The Islamic Rufida School will be the first of seven schools in the area to collaborate with the Future Pioneers team to implement relevant awareness activities and inspire its students to actively promote environmental awareness, particularly regarding solid waste management.
