TunisiaMEDSTAT hosts workshop on final energy consumption in Mediterranean region
The EU-funded MEDSTAT IV project recently hosted the fourth meeting of the Euro-Mediterranean working group on energy statistics and regional workshop on final energy consumption surveys in the transport sector. The meeting took place in Paris between 26 and 28 September.
The meeting allowed Mediterranean partner countries to present and discuss the main evolutions in their statistical systems on energy and to assess the main progress achieved in the production and dissemination of energy statistics since the start of the MEDSTAT IV Project in all three areas covered, i.e. energy balances, final energy consumption surveys and energy efficiency indicators.
The MEDSTAT IV project provides expertise and technical support to promote the harmonisation of statistics in line with EU and international standards in 6 domains: business register and business, trade and balance of payments, energy, labour market, migration and transport. It follows on the previous phase implemented over the period 2010-2013.
