The Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests (MAPMDREF) and the European Union in Morocco are organising a national workshop to reap the benefits of the Regional Development Support Programme (PADT) and bring it to a close. This programme provided technical assistance to support preparations for the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Rural and Mountain Areas, particularly for Component 2 dedicated to regional economic and environmental projects.

This workshop, to be held on Tuesday 10 December 2024 at the Oulja Conference Centre in Salé, will be attended by representatives of institutions, experts and local players. It aims to present the results obtained, identify good practice and share recommendations for the future implementation of the Strategy’s regional economic and environmental projects.

This programme, which received €50 million in budgetary aid and technical assistance from the European Union, also supported the Advanced Regionalisation policy and the National Strategy for the Development of Rural and Mountain Areas. The technical assistance part of the programme counted on the participation of 19 national and international experts over a 38-month period.

The work was focused on two pilot regions: Béni Mellal-Khénifra and l’Oriental.
