“Today’s attack in Benghazi, with two reported casualties among United Nations staff, is contemptible and a further worrying development in the Libyan crisis.
Our thoughts are with our UN colleagues and with the victims of the attack. We extend our condolences to their families and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
It is crucial that all Libyan parties abide by the truce brokered by UN Special Representative Ghassan Salamé and build on it to achieve a lasting ceasefire and a return to political negotiations.”
