The Support Programme to market monitoring and regulation (Programme d’Appui Spécifique à la Surveillance et l’Encadrement du Marché, PASSEM), funded by the European Union, organised a study visit to France on 2-6 December 2019 for the Algerian Centre for the Control of Quality and Packaging (Centre Algérien du Contrôle de la Qualité et de l’Emballage). The visit aimed at enabling the participants to familiarise with the functioning of the accredited laboratories of Paris-Massy and Marseille, exchanging with the executives in charge of the management system and tests implementation, and creating interpersonal links to establish a basis for information exchange.

The objective of PASSEM, which benefited from an EU funding of €4.3 million, is to contribute to the protection of the Algerian consumer and the facilitation of the negotiations of mutual recognition agreements between the EU and Algeria.
