The European Union is participating from 6 to 9 February 2025 in the 7th edition of the Halieutis Show in Agadir, on the theme of “Research and innovation for a sustainable fisheries sector”. This participation is part of the cooperation between Morocco and the European Union, in particular the Morocco-EU Green Partnership. The European Union stand will host several meetings around European initiatives and programs (WestMed, WES, REMEDIES), as well as workshops for young people on microplastic pollution in the Mediterranean and raising awareness of biodiversity, the marine environment and marine waste.

The European Union’s participation in the Halieutis Show demonstrates its commitment to a sustainable blue economy, the preservation and good governance of the ocean. The European Union’s participation in the Halieutis exhibition is also part of the Morocco-EU Green Partnership signed in October 2022. This strategic cooperation framework strengthens the existing partnership between Morocco and the European Union under the 2000 Association Agreement, focusing on public policies related to sustainability to respond to the climate and environmental emergency with increased momentum. The Morocco-EU Green Partnership is divided into four priority thematic areas of cooperation, namely the energy transition and decarbonization of the Moroccan economy; adaptation and resilience to climate change; the green and blue economy and environmental protection.
