The EU has offered Tunisia 125 vehicles to strengthen the capacity of the health service in disadvantaged regions. This donation is part of a larger programme and it is accompanied by a significant capacity-building component in the health sector.
“These vehicles reinforce the existing health service transportation in these governorates and allow medical teams to be more effective and to respond more quickly to emergencies”, the EU Delegation in Tunis said in a press statement.
This EU donation “is only one component of the Support Project to reduce social inequalities and support healthcare services in disadvantaged regions in Tunisia (PAZD2). It will be completed by a future delivery of large consignments of materials and medical equipment that are currently lacking”, it said.
