Howaida Faiad

I am Howaida Faiad, an architect from Alexandria, Egypt. I am very passionate about cultural heritage, sustainability, and education. My journey with cultural heritage began in 2020, documenting the rich tapestry of Jeddah Albalad. Now, I’m proud to be part of the USAID-funded “”VISIT ESNA”” project, which aims at reviving the charm of Esna “”a city in upper Egypt and to preserve and showcasing the captivating culutre heritage of it.

Also living by the Mediterranean in Alexandria,Egypt raised the sense of respect to the sea and the ecosystem behind it so, I started my journey to stand for it through my role at Banlastic Egypt as a project coordinator and facilitator of educational and environmental projects, I proudly worked on several educational project for marginalized communities in public schools in Alexandra, I also worked on empowring youth to start their own environmental initiatives in different Med cities in Egypt.

I really believe that awareness and education are always the cornerstones of change, so I use my skills and platforms to raise the awareness about the topics I am passionate about. I also worked in the field of cultural journalism as I established a blog to address the cultural issues, changes, events, and traditional aspects of Egyptian culture, particularly its historic sites.
It also addresses the impact of climate change on both cultural practices and historical landmarks.
