The ADAPT programme (ADAPT being the French acronym for “Support for Sustainable Development in the Tunisian Agricultural and Artisanal Fishing Sector”) announces the signing of a grant contract for an innovative project aimed at developing an organic olive oil and beekeeping production unit in the Béja region.

This project stands out thanks to its environmentally responsible approach, typified by the sustainable management of natural resources, the conservation of water and soil, and the rational use of water.

The sustainable approach to production not only increases the economic value of the products but also contributes to the social development of the Béja region. This project also creates formal employment opportunities, half of which are taken up by women and young people.

ADAPT is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). It contributes to the development of Tunisia with an innovative, equitable and environmentally friendly approach combining security, food self-sufficiency and management of natural resources.
