On 28 June, ADAPT held a training session in partnership with Wifak Bank, for the bank’s personnel. The objective was to present the financial back-up mechanism of the ADAPT Invest support fund with an initial budget of around €25 million, covering up to 14% of the amount of a loan for eligible projects in the agriculture, aquaculture and fishing sectors in Tunisia. This initiative aims to equip bank employees with the tools enabling them to better advise local stakeholders on the adoption of sustainable practices.

This partnership bolsters our common mission of promoting environmentally sound practices and supporting food security in Tunisia.

The ADAPT programme (the name is an acronym of the French for ‘Support for Sustainable Development in the Agriculture and Artisanal Fisheries Sector in Tunisia’), is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP). It contributes to the development of Tunisia with an innovative, equitable and environmentally friendly approach combining security, food self-sufficiency and management of natural resources.
