In Egypt, the EU devotes 40% of its support to climate relevant assistance, said the Head of the EU Delegation to Egypt James Moran. “Over EUR 770 million of EU grant assistance in Egypt is having a positive impact on climate.”
EU funded projects in Egypt work in renewable and clean energy, energy efficiency, transport, sanitation, water and waste management, pollution abatement, housing and agriculture, explained the EU Ambassador, adding that the EU also supports work in the water sector with the aim of promoting a climate relevant integrated approach to water resources management as well as programmes covering energy efficiency in the housing sector, integrated coastal zone management, sustainable agriculture, and disaster risk reduction.
