The ENI CBC Med Programme will be part of the “Mediterranean Pavilion”, the first of its kind to be implemented in the history of the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference “COP”.
Throughout the two weeks of the COP27 – 6-18 Nov, 2022 – in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the Mediterranean Pavilion will host numerous activities and events in view of highlighting both the urgent challenges the region faces, and the innovative solutions already being developed, eventually raising awareness on a region overlooked in the climate negotiations.
Located in the COP27 Blue Zone, the Mediterranean Pavilion led by Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the PRIMA Foundation (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area” Programme), and United Nations Environment Programme – Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP-MAP), has been conceived as coalition of like-minded organisations dealing with climate change in the region, including among others the Copernicus Climate Change Service, the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) and the Interreg MED Programm.
