As part of the EU support to reduce water scarcity in JO, representatives from the EU Delegation, AFD & KfW, in #TeamEurope, visited with WAJ/Yarmouk Water Company, the EU co-funded project aimed at improving water access, distribution, and sanitation networks.
To ease the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis in the North of the country, the project has also improved WASH facilities for almost 48,000 vulnerable households, including Syrians, and strengthened their resilience, thanks to services provided by ACF and NRC.
To improve the availability of water for the growing population in the northern governorates of Jordan, the European Union, and the European Investment Bank co-financed the 127 Million Euro Wadi Al Arab Water Project II.
The project is designed for the transfer of 30 million m3/year of water and for improving potable water availability for the growing population in the Northern Governorates in Jordan.
