FASTER has held its first specialized training to tackle the project’s goal of reinforcing the research and knowledge transfer capacity of INRGREF (National Research Institute of Rural Engineering, Water and Forests) and the associated Tunisian partners in relation to innovative land and water management in view of climate change.

The training targeted students and researchers. A total of 30 participants attended, most of them being researchers. The training consisted not only of lectures but also focused on interactive exercises and discussions. The participation and level of engagement were very high, and many participants provided interesting insights on the different concepts discussed.

The training revolved around six main topics: Climate change impacts at global scale, and in the Mediterranean, Water and forest management and climate change adaptation, Design and evaluation of adaptation measures, Landscape management, Innovative governance for adaptation, Water management policy analysis.

FASTER (Farmers’ Adaptation and Sustainability in Tunisia through Excellence in Research) aims to reinforce research and knowledge transfer capacity of INRGREF (National Research Institute of Rural Engineering, Water and Forests) related to innovative land and water management in view of climate change and its implementation through the use of Farm Advisory Systems (FAS). This project has received funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
