TunisiaThe EU unveils a set of activities in favour of Algerian media
The Delegation of the European Union to Algeria (EUD) has launched the first round of “Meetings with the media” to help develop sustainable communication networks with the representatives of the print, broadcasting and online media in Algeria. The objective is to help them better grasp EU policies and its actions on the field but also to tackle general issues related to bilateral relations and some current topics. This quarterly meeting will be followed by other more thematic meetings which will be devoted to the presentation of the EU-funded cooperation programmes in Algeria.
The role and the missions of the EU in Algeria were presented during the meeting, a good opportunity to take stock of 40 years of bilateral cooperation and to shed light on the evolution of the relations and exchanges at all levels.
The EUD is planning the organisation of field visits (Media tour) for the journalists to discover the beneficiaries of the cooperation projects, as well as thematic trainings and visits to the European institutions in order to promote a better understanding of EU’s actions in Algeria.
