This weekend, the EU delegation in Tunisia and the association Tunisie Recyclage came together at Cape Zebib for a major clean-up as part of the European “EUBeachCleanUp” initiative to raise awareness of the importance of looking after our oceans, especially when it comes to plastic pollution.
Organised for the third year in a row in Tunisia, this clean-up helped to collect 3 tonnes of glass, 2 tonnes of non-recyclable waste and 800 kg of recyclable waste, according to the President of Tunisie Recyclage, Houssem Hamdi. The event was also marked by the release of a sea turtle named “Salouha”.
