Alexandria Business Association, the Egyptian partner within the GIMED project, has extended the call for applications to select a new cohort of green entrepreneurs, being the 31st of August 2021 the new deadline.
Under the name of Green Future Round, this opportunity is seeking entrepreneurs in Egypt who are able to develop their businesses through green model innovations. In this sense, the call is open to young entrepreneurs and start-ups whose age don’t exceed 5 years.
Ideally, entrepreneurs who apply should be between 20 and 35 years old. In terms of eligibility, applicants from the following governorates will be eligible: Alexandria, Port Said, Ismailia, Kafr ElSheikh, Beheira, Sharketa, Damietta, Dakahlia and Marsa Matrouh.
GIMED will offer one-to-one coaching sessions with experts in green business plans and also support in developing marketing and promotion plans for products and services. There will also be grants for the best 4 selected ideas and 4 selected start-ups, amounting up to 7.500€ each.
Launched under the ENI-CBC Med Programme, EU-funded GIMED’s main goal is to support entrepreneurs, particularly young and women, to better access to finance and markets in 5 Mediterranean countries: Spain, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Egypt and Italy. On the ground, the project will train and coach eco-innovators and encourage financiers to invest in the Mediterranean eco-innovation sector.
