The High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, will travel to Morocco for an official visit on January 5-6.
On Thursday 5 January, the High Representative will meet in Rabat the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, as well as other institutional interlocutors of the Moroccan society and economic actors. The following day, the High Representative will travel to Fez for a meeting with professors and students from the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez, where he will deliver a speech.
The visit will be an opportunity for an in-depth discussion on the implementation of the EU-Morocco partnership, including in the perspective of the new Mediterranean Agenda. The HR/VP will take stock of current files and explore specific areas where dialogue and cooperation can be further strengthened. The meetings will also allow discussion on regional and international issues of common interest and of particular importance in the current difficult global context, and the global impact of the Russian war against Ukraine.
