The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, is in Jordan on 19-20 December to represent the European Union and participate in the Second Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership at the Dead Sea.
The aim of the Conference is to reaffirm international support for Iraq, its sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as its political process, its economic and development and its efforts to rebuild, in the fulfilment of the aspirations of its people. The HR/VP will also hold bilateral meetings in the margins of the conference.
HR/VP Borrell will meet with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan. The High Representative will reaffirm the EU’s commitment and support for Jordan and the region, also in view of the Russian war against Ukraine, its global consequences and its impact on European and global security. In addition, they will discuss bilateral relations.
