EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini yesterday met senior representatives of the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet, this year’s winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
“We pay tribute to the whole of Tunisian civil society and confirm once again our commitment to supporting its efforts, alongside the democratically elected authorities, to consolidate the democratic transition and ensure that Tunisia remains a source of inspiration and hope for people throughout the world,” said Mogherini.
With the prize winners, the High Representative discussed the current situation in Tunisia, and how the EU can best support the country in addressing current challenges, such as its economic and social development, in particular employment, the role of youth and women in society and the fight against terrorism.
