On 3 June 2024 in Casablanca, Patricia LLOMBART CUSSAC,  EU Ambassador to Morocco and Chakib ALJ, President of CGEM, Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises, signed a new project entitled “ICC: Innovation and Diversity, Accelerators of Development” for €600,000 in favour of the Federation of Cultural and Creative Industries (FICC in the French abbreviation). This project aims to support the cultural and creative industries in Morocco.

It is to be seen in the context of the Support Programme for Moroccan cultural and creative industries, launched in June 2023 by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Communication and the EU Ambassador to Morocco, and which is the first of its kind in the context of the Morocco-EU partnership.

The project “ICC: Innovation and Diversity, Accelerators of Development”, led by the FICC, with a duration of 48 months, aims to stimulate the emergence of the ICC sector (CCI in English) in Morocco and its contribution to economic growth and job creation. It will allow the FICC to strengthen its advocacy with businesses in the sector and the public powers to encourage cultural entrepreneurship and to work towards strengthening the legal framework for CCIs and in particular the status of the cultural enterprise.
