On the occasion of the National Children’s Day, celebrated on May 25, 2018, UNICEF and the European Union announce their support for a new project for the promotion of the rights of migrant children in Morocco. With a budget of € 2,447 million, this project will benefit all migrant children in the Kingdom estimated at 10% of the migrant population, 35% of whom are girls.
Spread over the period of 2018 – 2020, this project aims to ensure better access for migrant children, including victims of trafficking, to their rights in Morocco. More specifically, this new project aims to ensure that all migrant children, regardless of their legal status, have equitable access to education, health care, appropriate social and legal care and valuable temporary housing. More specifically, 2,000 accompanied and unaccompanied migrant children will benefit from these services. The interventions will also benefit professionals from different partner sectors.
