The Hashemite University and partners have been awarded a grant of 800,000 EURO under the ERASMUS+ program for 2023, to fund the implementation of the ‘Capacity Building Educational Program for Preceptors: Supporting medical students’ clinical experiences.’

The three-year project aims at supporting medical education in Jordan by enhancing the capabilities of clinical trainers (doctors) who train medical students in educational hospitals across Jordan. This will be achieved through the design and implementation of a professional training program to enhance their teaching, supervision, and training skills.

H.E. EU Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, said: “Building a robust healthcare system and nurturing education are the key pillars of the EU’s long-lasting partnership with Jordan. Through this project, we aim to support Jordan to achieve its goal of becoming a thriving hub for medical tourism in the region, while addressing the critical healthcare needs of both Jordanians and refugees. By training medical instructors, we are empowering the healthcare workforce and helping to create a sustainable future for Jordan.”
