In preparation of Brussels VII Conference “Supporting the future of Syria and the Region” on 14-15 June 2023, EuroMed Feminist Initiative and Syria Gender Advocacy Group will organise a panel discussion, in person and on-line: “The Role of Syrian women’s rights organisations in the future of Syria”.
The side event will take place on 9 June and will tackle the indispensable role of women’s rights organisations in the discussion on the future of Syria.
It will go beyond the challenges they face and will highlight concrete recommendations for their support and inclusion in all debates and decision making on political, educational, economic, and social agendas and legislation, as well as for their structural involvement in all stages of peace building processes for and in Syria: from preparation to follow up on implementation and monitoring and evaluation, to make sure that sound gender inclusive policies are designed, and reforms do not remain “on the books”.
