To mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Union in Lebanon is launching a photo competition on four human rights themes: freedom of speech, gender equality, refugee rights and fighting against torture.
The deadline to submit pictures is 13 October 2018.
To take part, simply snap a picture and post it on Instagram. Participants need to ensure their profile is public, tag @EUinLebanon and use either of the following hashtags: #SNAP4HR1 for freedom of speech, #SNAP4HR2 for gender equality, #SNAP4HR3 for refugee rights, #SNAP4HR4 for fighting against torture.
The photo competition is open to anyone from the Middle East and North Africa region and based in Lebanon.
A jury composed of photographers and human rights activists will look at the submissions, shortlist three photos per theme and vote for a winner.
If you make it to the top 12, you will have the chance to reveal your work on 10 December, on the occasion of Human Rights Day, in a photo exhibition that will last until 31 December 2018.
So grab your camera – or maybe your phone – and snap for human rights!
