The EU-funded Water and Environment Support (WES) project has just released a new video promoting the wide use of Natural Water Retention Measures (NWRM) in urban environments. This educational resource is tailored for key stakeholders in the Partner Countries, including national and local authorities, public and private sector entities, and Non-State Actors (NSAs) such as NGOs and industry experts.
The video showcases a wide range of NWRM that can be applied in urban settings, focusing on locally adaptable solutions; it demonstrates how NWRM can harness the power of nature to restore and conserve water resources, simultaneously reducing storm and flood risks, and improving the quality of stormwater, offering a holistic approach that benefits both the environment and urban communities.
The WES project invites all stakeholders in the Partner Countries to watch the video and to consider integrating NWRM into their urban water management strategies. By doing so, these measures can help create more resilient cities, capable of facing the increasing challenges of climate change and water scarcity.
