The first edition of the ArtiCréa Trade Fair was officially opened under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism.
This event, organised by the Tunisian National Crafts Office (ONAT) in partnership with UNIDO, the UN Industrial Development Organisation through the Creative Tunisia project, showcases the outstanding quality of Tunisian handicrafts.
The opening was honoured by the presence of:
- Mr Sofiane Tekaya, Minister of Tourism
- Mr Sofiene Hemissi, Minister of Communication Technologies
- Mr Samir Abid, Minister of Trade and Export Development
- Mr Mohamed Ben Ayed, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad
- Mr Lassaad Ben Hassine, UNIDO representative in Tunisia
From 9 to 15 September 2024, more than 150 exhibitors displayed an exceptional range of unique arts and crafts products at the Kram Exhibition Park.
The ArtiCréa Trade Fair is organised by the National Crafts Office in partnership with the Creative Tunisia project, which aims to strengthen Tunisian crafts and design value chains and forms part of the “Tounes Wijhetouna – تونس وجهتنا” (“Destination Tunisia”) programme to support diversification of tourism, handicrafts development and heritage enhancement. Creative Tunisia is financed by the European Union in Tunisia with a contribution from the Italian Development Cooperation Agency (Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo – AICS Tunisi) and implemented by UNIDO, the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO Tunisia).
