The president of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Georges Dassis, began a two-day visit to Tunis on Wednesday 13 April 2016. While in the Tunisian capital he will meet, in particular, with members of the “Quartet” (UGTT, UTICA, LTDH, OAT). The latter, who are winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, were received in Brussels last January during a plenary session of the EESC, which paid them tribute for their role in the implementation of the new Tunisian constitutional process. The EESC is eager to support and encourage Tunisian civil society, represented by the “Quartet”.
