Brief Description

The overall objective is to enhance a regional structured dialogue, which serves the progressive development of a more secure, transparent and predictable Euro-Mediterranean gas market.

Covered countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine, Tunisia.

Objectives

The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Gas platform is managed in a dynamic, efficient and attractive manner, and UfM Members get relevant and updated information (Nota: OME was formally designated as the Secretariat of the UfM Gas platform).

Actions in brief

-Assessment of gas supply-demand balances at regional level.

-Assessment of the current state of play and development perspectives of Euro-Mediterranean gas infrastructures (being backed by a dedicated database).

-Identification of crosscutting issues and potential bottlenecks that impact gas developments in the region; definition of possible solutions.

-Increased capacity/skills of decision-makers through specific training sessions on gas-related matters.

-Improved awareness and outreach through targeted communication means.
