This is a summary of final policy recommendation report of the FP7 POWER2YOUTH project, delivering the main findings, the causes of ‘exclusion’ of young people in SEM countries and the key policy messages.
Power2Youth is a consortium made up of 12 institutes and universities funded by the European Union’s 7th Framework Programme (FP7). The project studied the causes and effects of processes of exclusion of young people in the South and East of the Mediterranean, while seeking to identify the factors that favor their inclusion. The three-year project focused in particular on bottom-up processes of change and on the transformative potential of new generations through an interdisciplinary approach, different levels of analysis (macro, meso and micro) and six national case studies (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Turkey).
